British Lichen Society

International Association for Lichenology

The British Lichen Society (BLS) and the International Association for Lichenology (IAL) are two of the leading organizations promoting collaboration between lichen researchers. The BLS publishes the bi-monthly scientific journal The Lichenologist and a biannual Bulletin, and provides small grants for travel and research. The IAL produces a biannual Newsletter, organizes quadrennial symposia (the next will be in Bangkok in January 2012) and makes awards for outstanding contributions to lichen science.
