CBS-KNAW Fungal Biodiversity Centre

The Centraalbureau voor Schimmelcultures (CBS) Fungal Biodiversity Centre - an institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW), maintains a world-renowned collection of living filamentous fungi, yeasts and bacteria. The Institute's research programmes principally focus on the taxonomy and evolution of fungi as well as on functional aspects of fungal biology. The CBS publishes articles in the leading open access international journals ‘Studies in Mycology’ and ‘Persoonia’, and books in the CBS Biodiversity Series, and the CBS Laboratory Manual Series. Our aim is to collect, culture and preserve fungal biodiversity.
