Special Interest Group Meeting
Fungal photobiology
Organiser
The meeting will review the latest news on fungal photoreceptors and photoresponses, and will allow the proposal of new avenues of research and collaborations. Proteins similar to WC-1 and WC-2, components of the Neurospora crassa photoreceptor and transcription factor complex, have been identified in most fungi, and many of them are required for their responses to light. In addition, most fungal genomes contain genes for other photoreceptors, but their roles in the fungal cell are largely unknown. The meeting will include invited talks describing the latest results on fungal photobiology with selected representatives of the fungal kingdom.
